We provide general dentistry services to eligible members of our community.

12/12/2023 - We are currently accepting new uninsured patients

You have no insurance but are looking to establish care with a dental home? The ARDC is here for you.

To be eligible:

  • You must live in the Staunton-Augusta County-Waynesboro area. Residents of other counties and cities can visit the Virginia Association of Free and Charitable Clinics (VAFCC) website to find the nearest free or charitable clinic.

  • You must not have private dental insurance.

  • You must income qualify (see table below). Families with income above 300% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines will not be eligible for dental services at ARDC.

How to get started:

  1. Download, print and fill out our “Eligibility Application Form”

  2. Gather proof of income for you and any family members living with you who are earning an income:

    • We accept pay stubs and social security letters.

    • If you do not have a traditional printed paystub, we will need a signed letter from your current employer.

    • If you have no income, we ask that you bring a letter of support from the person providing for you at the moment.

  3. Bring the completed application to the ARDC in person or email it to our Eligibility Officer (arcdental@augustafreeclinic.org). Application submitted without proof of income will not be processed. Please note that we may ask you for additional documents such as your latest tax return.

Once submitted, the ARDC team will process your application and get back to you by phone or mail. If you are eligible, we will notify you of your copay ($35 or $65 depending on your annual income). Your eligibility will be valid for a year. After that you will need to reapply following the process outlined above. We will invite you to schedule a new patient visit. For your first visit at the clinic, you will need to bring the following forms: Medical History Form, Clinic Policy Form and Consent Form (or Consent Form for Minor).

All appointments must be prepaid for. Copay payment can be made over the phone with your credit card or in person at the ARDC. Please note that we do not accept checks.

ARDC patients are welcome to reschedule their appointment up to 24-hr before the appointment. Patients who cancel their appointment less than 24-hr before their appointment, arrive more than 10 min late, and patients not showing up for their appointment will lose their prepaid copay. A new copay will have to be paid to reschedule the missed appointment. After two missed appointments, patients will be dismissed from the ARDC for one year (see FAQ for more information on compliance and dismissals)

Please note that the ARDC is not a walk-in facility. All visits are appointment based and can be made over the phone (540)-221-6653.

We look forward to welcoming you at the ARDC!
